This is a picture of a Pigeonnier or a pigeon house, taken somewhere in France. I like that the picture gives off a fairytale feel when you look at it. From the foggy, forest setting, to the beautifully old construction of the building. The building itself reminds me of Baba Yaga's house, which is a hut that has giant chicken feet to walk around on. Looking at the picture, you feel like you are immersed in a fairytale. As if you were walking around in a forest and came across this house, just like Hansel and Gretel or Vasilisa.
These pigeon houses were made during the French Revolution because pigeons were popular both as food as well as fertilizer helpers in vineyards and fields. However, by looking at them you wouldn't think that, you would think that they were made during medieval time, possibly because the concept was given to them by the Romans. Which makes sense as they seem reminiscent of medieval follies that were often used for marking territory, or giving citizens of a city jobs.
I don't really know very much about photography or design, but in this post I can try to describe it to you. However, with that being said, feel free to correct me if something doesn't sound right. I feel that the contrast is shown in the picture through the sharpness in the shape of the building and the branches that are close to the frame in opposition from the foggy and blurred background. Or the contrast of the building itself compared to the seen flat ground that sits around it. There is the repetition of the branches that are shown is frame, and the muted color theme throughout the entire picture. As for alignment, I believe that the picture is edge aligned as the bottom edge of the building looks aligned in all three points that are seen in the photo. Lastly the proximity, the proximity of the branches seem to be closely placed from the building. The branches are grouped together at the top of the photo, putting them in the way of the line of sight of the build. Although, I think that the branches are also part of what draws you to the building.
