My challenges & experiences with the Microtheme.

The micro theme is a new way of writing that we are learning in my college writing class. It's three paragraphs of my opinion on a topic, however it's without the actualities of evidence. This supposedly makes the essay more open to the people that may have differing opinions than yours on the topic to possibly change, or at least think more on their opinion. I think that my biggest challenges with the microtheme, is trying to find a topic, and learning a completely new way of writing.

I am someone who likes structure and details; so trying to figure out a topic from a broad direction like "write about something you are passionate about" was really hard for me. Usually I'm given one option of two for a given topic to write about. There are many things that me, and I would assume many others, are passionate about. I feel like it would be more helpful if we could maybe be given a list of possible ideas. Even if there are some people that may do the same topic, it isn't guaranteed that the opinions and thoughts given on said topic will be the same.

The other thing that I struggled with was how different it is to what I grew up with in terms of writing. The arrangement of the microtheme makes it a lot harder to try and prove your point when you're supposed to talk in probabilities and possibilities. It's me giving my opinion on something, but without outwardly giving or basing it off of any facts.
